I’ve followed literary journals with a medical / health focus right from the start and have always loved the work shared in Please See Me. I was thrilled to have not just one, but two poems selected for issue #10, with its focus on women’s health.
Issue #10 is filled with some very powerful work – fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art – and it’s an honour to have “The Art of Distraction” and “Mother’s Heart as Incandescent Lightbulb” included, both in print and audio (I haven’t recorded a lot of my poetry, but it’s becoming more comfortable).
The funny thing about “The Art of Distraction”, which I was inspired to write after watching the beautiful documentary My Octopus Teacher, is that it could easily be titled “Please Don’t See Me”.
